Maintaining the windshield on your car is a lot easier than maintaining the rest of your car, but it is just as important. Here are a few tips on how to protect and maintain the windshield on a new car.
- Wash your windows with warm water. During colder months, allow the car to heat up first. Do not use hot water to wash windows because cracking may occur during colder seasons.
- Take note of weather changes. If you already have existing cracks, be aware that with temperature changes, the glass expands and contracts so cracks may grow larger.
- Do not use metal tools on your windshield. They can cause scratches to the surface that may not be able to be buffed out without being replacing the windshield. Instead, use glass friendly tools.
